NSSMC leaves H-beam prices flat for May

It's reported that Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp (NSSMC) announced to leave its domestic H-beam prices flat for May contract.

It's known that NSSMC hiked its H-beam spot prices by ￥8,000/ton since January but decided to leave the prices unchanged in April.

A Spokesman of NSSMC stated that the company urgently needs to raise prices by over ￥5,000/ton in order to reflect higher input costs. However, as its previous rise hasn't penetrated, the company will observe the market condition for another month.
